Hi. After much wrestling, I finally got my CSV in order. I imported it to my local dev version of the website and everything went just fine. But when I try to upload it to the live site, the featured image never works even though it imports all other fields just fine.

I’m using Rackspace cloud hosting and the URL path for featured images is to files that are already up on my live server. When I first uploaded the CSV (2100 records), it gave me a 503 varnish error which seems to indicate that I was trying to do too much at once. So I created a test CSV with only 5 items. I get no 503 with this, but still no featured images either.

I tried uploading the full CSV to your test server and it worked just fine. The image paths I’m using in the CSV have been double-checked and I’ve even changed them to other known jpgs, but no dice.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This is an odd issue. Kindly check the error log. It may give some clue. Also can you add the sample file for verification? Hope you have the sample file downloaded already if not you can get it for a cross check here http://blog.smackcoders.com/wordpress-ultimate-csv-importer-csv-sample-files-and-updates.

    Hi.
I am having the same issue as David described.
All fields get properly imported, but the featured image doesn’t.
It was working as a charm with the previous version, but now with the 3.5.1 the images simply won’t get imported.
I am using the same format as with the previous version. I provide you with a sample properly formatted csv file so you’ll be able to test it: Csv_file

Thanks in advance, I hope this helps.

Damn, this is marked as resolved… Does it mean that I must open another ticket?

No need will update you. But your CSV is not properly escaped and formatted well. Use a spread sheet editor like MS Excel or open calc to view your csv. Kindly download the updated sample csv file and replace the values for yours.

Regarding image issue will update you after testing.

Sorry for last message and the CSV was quite ok. We can import the csv with image successfully. Kindly verify the import here

So it wont be plugin issue, check your wp instance for any more clue for help.

    Hi.
Thank you very much for taking a look so quickly.
I am not sure what I am missing… would it be possible to have a look to the posts after the import? After logging in your demo, it says I have no permission to edit them.
I think I will be able to see what I am doing wrong just by seeing the posts and how the custom fields are.

    Thanks again! πŸ™‚

It is just a test import so only mandatory fields with image was imported. It is nothing about custom fields so they are skipped. The link one i gave is a restricted demo instance so you may not allowed to edit posts. It is better to make a copy of your instance in local like wamp or xamp and do some testing. Also you can check the error log details from sever to get a clue.

    Thank you for your support.
There must be a conflict with another plugin or something hidden in the database, as I’ve tested the same file in a clean install of WP and it’s working.
So you can close this thread as resolved.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!
