Hi,
Can you explain how to use the keywords field for import? How do I access the keywords in the post after importing.

I assume I cannot import a custom field?

Keywords? Can you explain what you are looking for? There is no keyword field for worpdress post in default. It can be created as custom field or in case of seo you may need seo plugin. But the free version doesnt support seo meta import.

Let me explain what I need to do – I am creating posts which may have identical names – they are products. I want to save the product id somewhere – is there some place I can save that data when I import?

Here the keywords are to import as post custom fields and not the seo meta keywords as you expect. You can import the products id as a post custom field, if needed.
