I can’t acess Site Kit’s Dashboard
-
I installed the plugin on my website http://www.e4t.com.br, but I cannot perform the configuration steps.
I checked the site, but when I click the Login with Google and Continue button, it only gives a 404 page.https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/919939063027494944/947908158133764196/unknown.png

Hi @hareon,
Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you can’t access the Site Kit dashboard. From inspecting your site I suspect this may be as a result of two versions of your site available, the https version and the http version. From checking the REST endpoints of both there are different site URLs defined within both versions.
So we can ensure you can successfully connect the plugin can you share the following:
- Did you clone one site when migrating to a secure (https) version of your site?
- Did you have Site Kit successfully connected previously?
- Have you tried placing a redirect on your site, ensuring any visitors to the http version are automatically redirected?
If you didn’t yet apply a redirect to your secure (https) site please go ahead and do so, before attempting setup once more. Your hosting provider should be able to assist with this, or you can apply a redirect yourself at host level, or via a plugin.
Let me know if you have any questions with above.
Hey! Thanks for answering. I understand very little of this, but I believe that what you said is on the right track. There was a time when http didn’t work on the site and there was no automatic redirection.
I don’t know how I corrected this error, but today accessing via http, the site works normally. It also works over https. I don’t know if there is a clone of the site. This is really a question that I still don’t know the answer to.Yes, I already connected the Site Kit, but a long time ago. Probably in 2020 I had a WordPress version of my website. Then the site was rebuilt in its own code, and then the site kept a version on Google Sites. Now I’m back to WordPress.
For the third question, I must have done nothing of the sort. I simply migrated from Google Sites to WordPress by changing the domain DNS to the hosting I currently use.
I will try to resolve the issues you raised. Thank you very much.`
No problem, happy to help! I noticed you have a redirection in place now, which is great, ensuring all your traffic is secure (https).
Now that there is only one version of your site accessible have you tried setting up the plugin once more? If so let me know how you got on. If you ran into any issues you may wish to reset the plugin before attempting set up once more.
I can keep this support topic open while you confirm you are able to complete set up.
Hi! Its still not working. I updated the plugin and did not work. So I deleted and downloaded again, and I got only page 404.
I really don’t know how to fix it.
Hi @hareon,
Sorry to hear that. I’m sure we’ll be able to determine the cause with a little more effort. As your site URLs registered on the Site Kit server may not match have you tried resetting the plugin (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)?
If you’ve already tried to reset the plugin then please share your Site Health information using this form, while including your hosting provider where requested. Along with this if you can share a screen recording of your experience this would be great to see at what point you’re landing on a 404 error page. You can use a service such as JumpShare or RecordIt to share a screen recording of your setup experience.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Yes, I tried to reset, uninstall and reinstall Site Kit.
I tried to delete another plugins and now I have only the basics (Jetpack, Betterdocs, Yoast, Duplicate Page, Getwid and Gutentor). Few plugins to not give chance to conflicts. After login, the site kit redirects me to a url, but I don’t know if I can post it here. It is a 404 page.
I’m using Hostoo as provider https://app.hostoo.io/ and the WordPress diagnostic is OK.

Many thanks for sharing these additional insights, very useful indeed. From reviewing at the video it looks like you’re directed to the 404 page after clicking on “continue”, on the “Sign in with Google” page. I suspect this may be a hosting related issue, similar to that reported in the below GitHub issue:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/3946As you’ve kindly shared your hosting provider I’ll check the same platform. Please allow me some time to check this. In the meantime it would be great if you could perform the following steps, to rule out any plugins or theme related conflicts:
- Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more
If you land on the same 404 page as per your video please share any browser console errors on that page.
While you check the above I’ll also be performing some checks with your hosting provider.

But I have another information.
When I am in Heath Check & Troubleshooting plugin, it advices that have a problem with Site Kit.

“When activating the plugin google-site-kit, a crash ocurrs on the website. As a result, the change was automatically undone.”
I activate and on the first time the plugin was not activated (generating this message), and I activated again and tried to setup the plugin, but getting the 404 error and the screen above.
Many thanks for sharing the additional insights. If you’re unable to setup the plugin, with troubleshooting mode not working, please share the following, as I suspect there may be something with your current environment resulting in the redirection.
- Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
- Have you attempted setup from another device, or from a Chrome browser incognito window? If so let me know if the same occurs.
If the same occurs from another device we’ll try applying a redirect from your hosting control panel, as what may be occurring is a site URL mismatch. From checking your site I can access your site with a www prefix, and without the www prefix.
Note that I’ve also setup a test account on the same hosting platform, and on 2 separate sites I don’t encounter any setup issues with default configurations. One one site I was redirected to the wp-admin screen however this was while the site wasn’t fully secure.
I changed my website to english to help.
So, I have 2 problems. they was listed, but when I acess again, the problems gone.
When I acess again, the report was back in print:

2 – Have you attempted setup from another device, or from a Chrome browser incognito window? If so let me know if the same occurs.
Yes, in my other reply I was tested based on your instructions.
The redirect is e4t.com.br to http://www.e4t.com.br

I will try to reinstall WordPress. The temporary link is in files yet. I installed WordPress before have the domain pointing to the current url.
The I hope my pages and posts don’t disappear.
I tried reinstalling WordPress a few times, reinstalled Google Site and left these settings on the site. Does it have something to do with it?

I still have the problem.
Hi @hareon,
Many thanks for sharing the additional insights. Based on your Site Health status screenshot what you’re encountering is a cURL error. May I ask your current location? I ask as we’ve had other users also report the same cURL error, many from the same region.
I’m from Brasília/Brazil. My internet service is provided by Oi.
Thanks for the update. In that case you’re not in a location where Google services are blocked.
To troubleshooting this further can you share the below?
- Your Site Health information.
- Do you have any other sites on the same hosting platform? If so please check does the same issue occur. I ask as I don’t encounter on the site I’ve setup with the same hosting provider, and this check can help indicate if there is something with this sites environment resulting in this setup loop.
From checks I’ve been performing on your site it also doesn’t like your www/non www redirect is working as expected, with both versions accessible. While I don’t suspect this is the cause of the redirection can you check your redirection configurations, and ensure the full https prefix is included in both settings?
I’ll also check this with the team, to see whether having both versions of your site (www/non www) could potentially impact Site Kit setup.
