Can’t verify the website owner – Site Kit
-
Hello.
After installing the plugin Site Kit, i have the error “The necessary verification token could not be found on your site. This may be related to your site using a page caching plugin. Please flush your home page cache and then try again.”
Tried to delete the cache and in “in incognito” mode.
Can you help me, please?-

Hi @blasto134,
Thanks for reaching out and also sharing the troubleshooting steps you’ve undertaken. So we can determine more on this please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Rather than clearing your cache have you tried to temporarily deactivate any caching or optimization plugin if applicable?
- If you’re not using a caching or optimization plugin can you share your current hosting provider? There may be some optimizations applied at host level which could be triggering this notice.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Hello James.
Thank you for quikly replay π
i sent to you in “private form” the information.
I don’t use cache optimizator
The website is in Aruba severMany thanks for sharing. I’ve checked the details and as nothing obvious stands out please perform the following steps, which can help rule out this party plugin and theme related conflicts or configurations which may be triggering this notice.
- Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more
Let me know how you get on with the above check. If the same occurs we can perform some additional checks from at host level.
Sorry but in Plugins–>Healt Check & trub.. i don’t find “Troubleshoot”
I see “check healt” or “enable diagnostic mode” and “tools”
in “tools” there isn’t “availabe plugins”No problem, I’ve made a video demonstrating how you can access “Troubleshooting” mode. You’ll find it here.
One reason why you may not have troubleshooting mode present may be that the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin must be activated, and not just installed.
Let me know how you get on, or if you need further assistance performing these checks.
oh..in Italian is “diagnostic mode”.
enabled the plugin and setup Site kit but i have the same problemMany thanks for checking. I should have guessed the “troubleshooting” wording may be different per language. Good to know!
Now that you’ve ruled out third party plugins triggering this notice can you share the following:
- Do you have any other WordPress sites on the same hosting platform with which you can attempt Site Kit setup from?
- If you ignore the message during setup and proceed can you share any further insights on at what stage setup fails? If you wish you can share a screen recording of what occurs using a service such as Loom or RecordIt.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
No, i have only this website there. Other websites in other hosting are working with Site kit.
If I ignore the message, i go out from setup and come back in dashbord of Site Kit pluginCan i make the verification manually? (with a file or metatag)
Hi @blasto134,
That certainly is an option in order to successfully verify your site. Can you try this verification method before then attempting Site Kit setup?
Now i have a bigger problem. White page! π
Yesterday after restore Troubleshooting mode, i don’t remember if i have checked if the website works.
I tried to:
β disable all plugin
β change the theme
β clear the cache
β enable the debug mode (but in white page i donβt see message).
the problem is the same.@blasto134 Thanks for the update. If your website is inaccessible have you tried to rename your plugins folder? Similar to the Health Check & Troubleshooting steps from yesterday this can help rule out a third party plugin conflict. In order to do so you can temporarily rename the
wp-content/pluginsdirectory from your website hosting control panel or from your preferred FTP application.Your error logs may also indicate any faults on your website. Let me know how you get on with the above.
thank you for reply.
renamed…always white pagei have seen also a automatic update of wordpress but i don’t know if was before or after the yesterday’s changes
@blasto134 Thanks for the update. While this doesn’t seem Site Kit related it looks like your wp-admin panel is accessible. With that have you tried switching themes, while also reinstalling your WordPress core files?
You may also wish to check for any errors or warnings using your Site Health status tab (Tools > Site Health > Status).

Let me know how you get on with the above.
