Could you elaborate a bit on how you tried to simulate a button?
You used a link and then tried applying some CSS to make it look like a button?
Could you go to Hustle > Pop-ups and on the right side of your popup click on the gear icon and export the popup from there.
Upload it to any file sharing service like GDrive or DropBox and share the download link here so we can check your setup?
Also, can you share a screenshot on how it looks in your backend preview so we can be sure that we’re seeing the same thing during the test?
PS : I have always the previous version of Hustle (7.0.4) as the with the new one nothing was working (pop-ups, slides…), even after modifying the pages and posts where the windows were asked to work.
It’s possible that the later version conflicts with something on your site.
Could you perform a conflict test by disabling your other plugins and switching to default WP theme and see if Hustle works after that.
If it does, try enabling them back one by one until the issue is back and that should tell us where the conflict is so we can debug it further.
I suggest doing this test on a staging site or if you don’t have one make sure to create a full site backup before you do the test.

Perhaps another conflict ?

You will find at the following address during 7 days :
– an image of the pop-up as it appears on the site (without frame)
– an image of the pop-up as it appears within hustle (with frame)
– the code of the frame.
The frame is created by using <table> around the text and the link included.

Most probably your theme is overwriting the CSS for the button. We would need to see the popup on live site to see why CSS is not applied.

Do you clear cache after applying changes? I can see that you have a cache plugin on your site.

Concerning the cache, I effectively tried to clear the cache without immediate changes…
