MPL-Publisher – Self-publish your book & ebook

MPL – Publisher 📚 helps you self-publishing an ebook, print-ready PDF book, HTML for Kindle Direct Publishing, or audiobook from your WordPress posts. If you are an author ✍️, it will solve the “how to publish my digital book” problem, doing it the simplest possible way 👌, easing the process of converting your book or ebook to ePub, print-ready PDF, mp3, Kindle, Mobi… etc.

Writing a book successfully is a challenge by itself and publishing an ebook can be pretty painful without the right tools. But with Kindle Direct Publishing, Amazon publishing, and other forms of self-publishing, publishing an ebook or audiobook can even be easy.

It is free to self-publish on the most popular ebook platforms. You just need a formatted ebook file to load to the publishing platforms. This is your completed, edited manuscript in specific formats: .mobi for Amazon, .ePub for the other stores, or PDF for print-ready books.

With our plugin, you can download in a matter of seconds your eBook from your WordPress blog in these formats. If you already have a WordPress site, you are ready to start selling online your self-published book.

The plugin is full of features (check the features section and roadmap to future releases) and open to any comments, bugs, or issues you may have. Use the MPL-Publisher Support Forum.

For now, these are the current features:

  • Unlimited books per site with unlimited exports per book.
  • Advanced cover editor included (only available for premium).

  • Promote your book using the shortcode [mpl] and their available options.
  • Basic filter and sort your chapters individually.
  • Add additional book chapters and edit current content.

To be honest, I make a competing plugin, and I'm envious of MPL Publisher's slick user interface and how straightforward it is to use. And it produces some very nice-looking books. To top it off, its developer, Ferran, is a very friendly, helpful, and smart guy. 👍👍!

It attempts some nice features, but at the end of the day it is unusable because of frustrating limitations or poor implementation: All your posts are shown in what appears to be an arbitrary order while you can add custom "chapters", if you filter by category the chapters don't show up in the list and thus can't be added to your ebook changing the filters to limit the number of posts resets everything so you can't build your book a piece at a time: only the current filtered list of posts goes into the book only post titles are shown, so if you have two posts with the same or similar name you don't know which is which
