You can install the Knowledge Base for Documents and FAQs from your WordPress Dashboard or manually upload it through FTP.

OPTION 1: Install Knowledgebase Plugin from WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Plugins -> Add New.
  2. Search for ‘Knowledge Base for Documents and FAQs’ and install the plugin.
  3. Activate the plugin in the Plugins menu.
  4. Optional step: configure the plugin in Admin menu, in Knowledge Base -> KB Configuration page.

OPTION 2: Manually Upload Plugin Files

  1. Download the plugin file from the plugin page:
  2. Unzip the file
  3. Upload the ‘echo-knowledge-base’ folder to your ‘/wp-content/plugins’ directory (do not rename the folder).
  4. Optional step: configure the plugin in Admin menu, in Knowledge Base -> KB Configuration page.

I tried DW Q&A and was disappointed with the editor not being what I normally use to add pages & posts. This Echo KB is very clever. It creates a page and then that one page has a dynamic link to the KB application. All my plugins I use for the editor remain intact and the KB creates a subset of categories and tags specific to the KB. My only wish list is perhaps: 1) easier way to organize multiple KB 2) better accessibility color schemes. I had to re-do some of the default colors so they read better and have higher accessibility score.

I wish I tried this one first but after a half a dozen free and premium solutions I find this gem. My only gripe is the lack of widgets to show a table of contents on the individual pages, but that only took an hour or so to whip up.

The plugin has been working perfectly well since day one. We had a request from our client to modify how the search results are given to the user when they search for a specific topic. The client wanted to have a direction of getting user details or inquiry if there are no results found. At first, we could add a link to our result where the condition returned zero results and the user would then click on the link to be redirected to another page and provide the question that they did not get an answer for. After a server update, our link could not work anymore. Contacted support, within 3 days my issue was resolved without being taken from pillar to post. I'd definitely advise you to use this plugin. It's the best, plus the support team as well.
