You can install the Knowledge Base for Documents and FAQs from your WordPress Dashboard or manually upload it through FTP.

OPTION 1: Install Knowledgebase Plugin from WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Plugins -> Add New.
  2. Search for ‘Knowledge Base for Documents and FAQs’ and install the plugin.
  3. Activate the plugin in the Plugins menu.
  4. Optional step: configure the plugin in Admin menu, in Knowledge Base -> KB Configuration page.

OPTION 2: Manually Upload Plugin Files

  1. Download the plugin file from the plugin page:
  2. Unzip the file
  3. Upload the ‘echo-knowledge-base’ folder to your ‘/wp-content/plugins’ directory (do not rename the folder).
  4. Optional step: configure the plugin in Admin menu, in Knowledge Base -> KB Configuration page.

I was looking for a good FAQ plug-in for our organizations intranet. We were using a different component, but it had no search functionality. Also, there was no way to display nested categories. I started looking some more and found Echo Knowledge Base. I don't why I hadn't found it sooner, but I am so glad that I did. I can't believe what you get out of the box! The visual configuration editor has had a lot of thought put into the design and the free core component gives you EVERYTHING you need to have a fully functioning Knowledge Base / FAQ. If you want to expand the functionality, the add-on components are very reasonably priced, with special bundle pricing. Some other author's plug-ins charge many times more for ad-on enhancements. Also, my inquiry regarding add-ons was answered very quickly. I recommend this excellent component without reservation.
