In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] All reviews have disappearedok no problem. thanks for the update.. i have rolled back, the previous version is perfectly functional so i can live with that. suggestion: why not retract the latest version to stop people crashing into the same thing? then you won’t get hassled 😉

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] All reviews have disappearedthey are still there, just wind back to the previous version, instructions are posted above. once you reinstall the old version, everything will be back as before.
i recommend finding another plugin though, the support on this is shockingly bad 🙁

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] All reviews have disappearedthis is pretty poor. none of the fixes work. rollback is the only option for me. The developer seems to have gone awol now too…

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] All reviews have disappearedthanks for the reply.
unfortunately, i think i’ve done that already…
once the plugin upgraded i noticed that reviews were missing and just the shortcode was displayed.
I then checked and the plugin was disabled, so i enabled it.
when i checked, no reviews. so i edited the page and noticed that the tick box to enable the plug was off on the page. so i switched it on. No reviewsIn my case this may be compounded further by the fact that i’ve just taken over this site and i have no idea what the plugin settings were on the page. By this i mean was it set to product or company, what was the id of the product etc. so it’s possible that i’m entering that wrong. I can see in the database that each review is keyed to a page_id and has custom_fields populated. Is there any way of understanding what the old config was for the page parameters?
I might just wind back to previous and get a better grip on the situation before attempting the upgrade…

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] All reviews have disappearedhaving recently taken over management of a client’s website, i *stupidly* updated this plugin as part of my initial takeover maintenance. All reviews have vanished from the pages and admin interface. Luckily, they are still in the database in the table wp_wpcreviews, so i’ve still got them.
it seems that this table is no longer used by version 3+ as i’ve uninstalled the plugin, deleted the table and reinstalled and i can add new reviews, which appear in the admin console and on the pages. these are not added to the wp_wpcreviews table in the database though.
I’ve spent the best part of 4hrs now trying to restore the reviews for the client. It’s made me look like an ass, when the reality is that this is entirely the fault of the developer.
If anyone finds out how to fix thins then please, let me know. In the meantime i’m trying to go back to a previous version.

In reply to: Custom category page display subcategories with postsi’ve just posted the exact same request in another topic! here
I know how it could work (as i’ve detailed) but i’m not sure if it’s the correct way of doing it. Technically using the same template page and duplicating some code within it along with incrementing the category variable passed into the page would work. I’m just unsure how to do it in wordpress land.
