This is resolved. Well, almost! It turned out to be a WooCommerce setting “Default Customer Location” that was set to “Geolocate with page caching support”.
Now the only problem that remains is that the links on the page are still pointing to the main site. Again I am using the standard TwentySeventeen theme.
