Alright, thanks a lot to the two of you.
It is a “self-hosted” homepage … I’ll try contacting the hosting provider, it was an agency who set the self-hosted WP up, hope they’ve got some good answers for me 😉

    Hi,

thanks again for the prompt reply.

Okay, now I got your point … So I did as you said, but the problem still remains: although I’m logged in as the Admin, I can’t see the the plugin-button in the dashboard … seems like it’s hidden, just like “setting”, too. How can I access that? And shouldn’t there be an easy way for me to access, since I seem to be the Admin?

    Thanks buddy!

    Hi Sinip,

thanks a lot for your reply … Okay, I’ll try pointing out more precisely:
My client has a live WP site and when I’m in the dashboard, I can’t use plugins. It’s the usual Desktop Version of WordPress. I’d like to add things to this site via FTP and install plugins etc., but therefore I need to create a database on the Web Server and a MySQL … It’s like installing WP, right? I’m afraid of installing WP, because it might affect the existing theme and settings … How do I install WP, without destroying the current setting etc. on the current WP site? I hope I you get my point now, sorry if I make it so complicated ^^

    Regards,
    Zena
