By the way, I finally got it to show up, but only if I select either the Nivo slider or the Simple slider, neither of which display the images correctly. Any other slider theme gives me an error message like this: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /{my_website_url]/wp-content/fa-themes/classic/display.php on line 25

Thank you so much, John, for the quick response and especially for the info on the widget! If only I’d read the news about the updates when you added the widget, I could have saved myself 6 years of challenges. 😉 Could have had a V-8!

Regarding getting it to show exactly how I wanted it where I wanted it, it took some playing around with a variety of options, the widget and another plugin, but knowing about your widget sooner would have saved me some time (and you too, I guess).

Can I upgrade my rating to a 5-star? Maybe donate a few bucks for a cup of coffee or a beer? It is indeed a great plugin!

Thanks so much, esmi. I have pretty much decided the problem I’m having getting the “Added” to appear is theme related. So, on to design a new theme.

Too bad about the Cart widget not popping up by design. It did used to, and it was very cool. I miss it.

Anyway, thanks for getting back to me! I appreciate your time, and love eShop compared to the other shopping carts I’ve tried. I hope to make a donation to eShop; just waiting for the first successful sale made using your lovely software.

OK, I’ve been chasing this down. Updated eShop again to current version; no change. Re-uploaded an even older version: still no change, so I updated it to the current version again.

Created a new test site with a fresh install of both WordPress and eShop, switched to the 2012 theme, added some products, set all eShop settings as I have them on my real site.

The good news (for y’all; bad news for me) is that now when I click the “Add to cart” button, a little “Added” shows up for a moment. So I think I can conclude that this problem has to do with either my theme or my very complex site set-up.

However, the Cart widget in the sidebar does not pop-up when I Add to Cart or update when I add a second item to cart, no matter how I set the widget settings, though the changes will be reflected in the cart widget if I refresh the page or go to the Shopping Cart page.

The new test site is here, if you care to look: http://pixelwranglers.com/test/

    Sigh…on to more debugging.

Thank you. I just have no need for 3 columns on my laptop. I have a total of 3 items, now all smaller than necessary, and therefore less legible. Sigh! Responsive to whom? (you don’t have to answer that — I get the idea; just wish they still gave us an option that was quite useful).

Oy! The new colors are pretty, but much harder to view, as so many others have stated above. I can’t find a single color theme that is as good (IMHO) as the great 3.7 interface.

And what happened to the option for 2 columns? On my screen, there are always 3 columns now. There’s an empty dotted box in the third column. I’d rather have the option for 2 wider columns, instead of a hint that I can move things into a unnecessary third column. Grumble.

Well, I deleted ALL my plugins, and tried again, first with an auto-update; then with a manual update, following the directions on this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress#Ready_to_Update

This time I upgraded to WP 3.2 (it passed the health check); a 3.2 upgrade has worked fine on other of my sites hosted at the same place, same account, different URLs.

It still didn’t work. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling 3 different plugins, one at a time. All the images in all the plugins are still broken, the layout is still messed up, and the icons are still missing from the plugins on the dashboard.

I tried the 20-10 and 20-11 themes; no better. I tried importing a copy into another test site, and everything there works erfectly (but it’s the wrong URL).

What is my next step? Do I need to delete the entire install and database and start over from scratch? Will I have to have a completely empty root directory into which I do a brand new install?

Love to hear from someone on this, please; I’ve been trying to fix it for 5 days. 🙁

Never mind; found out from the developer that the text in the Thumbnail Gallery always does overlay the image (though you can turn it off).

Otherwise, looks like a very nice plugin.

Back to the drawing board for me….

Thanks, FlashBuddy! It looks good, wish it would hook into NextGen. Do you happen to know if the text can be displayed under the image or under the thumbnails (no overlay on the image)?

    THX!

P.S. In case it helps anyone help me, I did try the Twenty-Ten theme; same problem. I also upgraded another site on the same server (Hostgator shared) with no problems.

    🙁

FlashBuddy, looks like you’re no longer using GalleryView. I sleuthed, but to no avail.

I’m also searching for a solution to this problem. I was able to center the main images by adding margin-left: -65px; to .gallery and .panel in the galleryview.css, but nothing seems to allow me to also move the entire filmstrip. I’m also trying to move the filmstrip of thumbnails plus the panel overlay text down (success to a point with the text;) no luck with the filmstrip.

Has anyone figured any of this out?

Don’t know if you still care about this issue, but, if so…I changed the <h2> to <p> in mine and then styled the font-size/style under “/* PANEL OVERLAY CONTENT */” in the galleryview.css. Works fine.

This looks awesome, except no matter how many slides I specify, it only shows 5, and I seem to have no control over which 5. Any thoughts?

Just fyi, another (former) user of Lazyest Gallery here. This happened to us, too–on February 2, 2011, and affected ALL of our websites. We are still dealing with the fallout of this exploit. Days lost to cleaning up all our sites, our server, our computers. With any luck, we’ve finally discovered the last exploited file, and life can get back to normal.

I’m glad to discover I’m not the only one, but sorry it happened to anyone else.

I found my way here because only 20 out of 50 images are showing as available in the Preview image dropdown on of my client’s sites. Sure enough, I was able to type in the correct number and have the correct image returned, so that is great!

However, I have a lot of clients who are not terribly technologically advanced, and this is really puzzling for them. In the case of this one client, she has used re-e-e-e-ally long filenames. Would that effect how many preview items can be shown?

Is it a bug in the program, or are there suggestions I should be making to my clients, or just tell how to (counterintuitively) fix it?

    Thanks so much!!!
