why? security != obscurity
I do not agree with this statement. Security has a lot to do with obscurity.
Wordpress particularly gets hit by a lot of bots (not humans) which roam the web for /wp-admin/ and then try default ‘admin’ and go to town on brute forcing. A lot of the WordPress sites I host get hacked often because of poorly coded plugins or because of /wp-admin/ and it would be wonderful to change the URL.
I believe vBulletin and others have been doing this since day one. But that’s just my two cents.
