I’ve got the same problem after upgrading wordpress 2.8.4 to the latest version. First I made a backup of the MySQL database files, than I upload the new files manually by WS_FTP Pro, and finally I did a fresh installation.
I can upload every file, except *.rar files… In version 2.8.4 everything works fine. Now I get the same error when uploading *.rar files: error saving media attachment.
..if it works don’t fix it…
