Resolved it ourselves. It appears to have been a styling issue re the content of the shortcode.

I’m having the same issue for Dutch. In wp-content/languages/ folder I see both the nl_NL.mo and po files. When checking with poedit the string has already been translated. I.e. the plugin seems to only partially pickup the translation.
These files are not in the wp-content/plugins/email-subscribers/languages folder. Adding them has no effect.
How can I resolve this? Thanks!
