You could edit the theme templates in a child theme to remove the hard coded text.

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionYou won’t need to move anything. The hosting should be exactly the same, you’ve simply connected a new database. Log in to the new site and switch to your original theme that should still be there. If many of your templates have hard coded elements, they should still be present.

Of course, as pointed out by @thegreyparrots, you will have a brand new WordPress database, so no content created before today will be available unless you kept regular backups.
