In reply to: Automatic NON-PLUGIN backups? You could also use a back up plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/backwpup/
This plugin backs up your theme, database, plugins, wordPress core files, uploads…. You can choose your settings and also choose where it uploads files. It’s very useful.
Very good and thanks. I’ll look into that.
That’ll be fine if the backup is accessible inside my Hostgator Cpanel. And I can restore from there.
Because, as it was with my crash, I had NO access to my WP Dashboard to make changes. Is there a way that austinwaggoner and I can get help with this? It’s very important to a client.
I don’t understand how a plugin developer can have such a great development and not answer our questions, or have someone else help. He maybe is out of town or something and can’t get to us.HERE should be http://nextgen-gallery.com/templates/caption/
It talks about templates? I’m just using the default template..works fine, have my gallery.
Just want the titles to show beneath the thumbnails.I want to know the same thing. This is very important.
It says it’s possible HERE
but, I’m not seeing how.
says to insert shortcode nggallery id=1 template=caption
And, I can see in the style tab, but WHERE in the style tab would that go to make the caption options appear?
*why not just write that into the plugin to begin with?
Thanks!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: changing theme names?i assume these people are doing it as a kind of ‘corporate identy’ – to point out that the theme is custom-made/customized for their site.
So..I’m new to this WP thing.
Are you saying they are buying a WP theme, then customizing it and changing the folder name?
And, the css name?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Need help in understanding differences in themestouch code, at least HTML, possibly PHP. And that upsets newbies. You’ve been warned.
I don’t write code, but I can work with existing code and html.
Thanks for the warning to the newbies.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Need help in understanding differences in themesThanks for your replies.
A couple more questions come to mind now:Please elaborate on what a ‘child theme’ is.
and alsothemes that you pay for, say on themeforest.net. Are those up to date and more easily customizable? As a whole? I mean I know they’re trying to sell them to the public, but don’t want to buy one and see I can’t move stuff where I want it. I do see on their comments that most of the theme developers seem to answer questions on there and that impresses me. As long as I know I have support and instructions, it should be fine I guess.
But you never know what your website is gonna look like when you buy it until you put your website name on it.
When I say customizable, I’m referring to the ability to remove all the blog info such as recent posts, authors, etc. I want to only use them for websites and not blogs.
Thank you.
