Yes, that’s how it works. You don’t need to enter your own IndexNow key.
IndexNow doesn’t issue keys. The plugin generates a random key for your site and hosts it automatically. Change API Key just creates a new one — that’s expected.
You can leave the generated key as it is. Use Check API Key to confirm it opens a page showing the same key.
