Hello Tobias,
Thank you for the swift answer. Your Shortcode edit did the trick π This RatingWidget plugin and your TablePress plugin continue to impress!
Just wondering, will this Shortcode modification have any adverse effects on the table/site as a whole?
Thanks again, I truly appreciate the help,
Anton

Thank you for all your help, and your awesome plugin. I’ve been wanting to have the stars appear on the front page for some time, and am soo happy to finally have it working and looking the way I was hoping.
Thanks for you patience.

In reply to: [Rating-Widget: Star Review System] My theme doesn't use the_excerpt()No worries, thank you for getting back to me.
As far as making the method rw_validate_visibility public, I’m sadly unsure of how that is done. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to PHP and mostly rely on trial and error to learn. Could you please explain?
Nevertheless, I still added the code you provided, just as I did before, and it worked! Posts where ratings are unneeded are now being skipped! The rest show on the front blog page as desired, take a look: http://themasterfoundry.com/
Should I still worry about rw_validate_visibility?

In reply to: [Rating-Widget: Star Review System] My theme doesn't use the_excerpt()Thank you for answering!
I have “all categories” selected, and have added a few exceptions based on ID. So yea, I’m filtering by post ID.

I figured as much, but could you be a little more specific please? Should I edit some CSS file that comes with the plugin?
Thank again!
Oh, sorry, forgot to include the links I meantioned:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt
http://codex.wordpress.org/The_LoopAgain, I undertand what they are meant to do, I’m just not sure what the actual code should be and where I should use it.
Hello Vova, thank you for answering.
I would very much like to give your suggestion a try, but I’m new to CSS (I assume it’s a CSS edit you’re talking about) and am not entirely sure what to do with the_excerpt() Could you maybe guide me?
If it helps, the theme i’m using has a section in the post editor where an excerpt can be included for each post under the custom title “game review”. I have tried this, but again only the words appear, no star ratings on front page.
The theme I’m using also has 3 distinct ways of displaying posts on the front page, namely: the full post (stars appear with this one), a large thumbnail excerpt (no stars on front page), and the small thmubnail excerpt (this is the one I’m using and no stars appear).
I tried looking at the following links regarding what you suggested to try and understand it better, and I THINK i’m starting to, but I’m still not sure where or how to make this edit safely. Also, I have a “custom CSS” plugin installed, as I assume that’s needed.
So yea, could you please be more specific?

In reply to: [GD Star Rating] Ratings on front page using Gamepress themeThank you for replying so soon Othbaal! I made a Home and Blog page that I used to set my website to static home page. The thing is, I want to have recent posts appear on my homepage, for which the stars still didn’t show (using themasterfoundry.com/blog) for instance.
Doing this however did make the stars appear on the actual “Home” page, so you’re right, it does work. But is there a way to make the stars display above the recent posts on the “Blog” page that I created and set in reading/settings?
Sorry if i’m missing something obvious… and again, thanks fo the help.
