this version of the plugin does not support Stripe for payments. Only PayPal is supported.

About the SMTP it’s possible that in this particular website there’s something that is going wrong with the mailer, so the SMTP could be a workaround for the issue

Se si, puoi provare a disattivare gli altri plugin (ad eccezione di WooCommerce) e vedere se il problema persiste?

Unfortunately the upgrade won’t fix the issue since this version of the plugin is unable to save the payment information

i’m sorry to read your negative review but perhaps it would have been better if you had opened a support topic so that we could understand the problem better.

as said the subscription cannot be with price zero because PayPal Standard (the only payment gateway supported by this version of the plugin) does not allow you to purchase them.
So, we don’t plan to do any change in the plugin at the moment.
