Oh I just posted that and it sounded rude didn’t it? I didn’t mean it that way, I mean oh duh what a dummy I am! :~)

I think my problem is I don’t understand what this caching stuff is really all about, so many of the plugins assume you know what you’re doing! When I recover from this morning’s panic, I will try and educate myself and then try one of your suggestions. I appreciate the heads up – thanks.

Are they really essential anyway?

Thanks for replying – if anyone else gets this problem is was caused by WP-Cache (which I will NEVER use again). Hostgator took less than an hour to fix the problem. I have to reload all my plugins, change the theme again and put back all my advertising! Better than losing three months work though. BEWARE OF WP-CACHE!
