Just tried to change my email address in the profile edit screen. After changing it I clicked on the “confirmation” link emailed to me.
It just returns me to my profile edit page with a notification “There is a pending email address change to xxx@xxxxxx.co.za” which is the confirmation I just clicked on. Nothing changes.

Yes, it would be interesting to know whether this can be incorporated into the wp_login_form() function, or (even better) coding it into wp_signon?
Check if the mod_rewrite extension is loaded on your server.
