Ok thanks for taking the time to help out STeve

I’m having trouble making myself understood. It’s the whole picture I’d like clarification on. I’m looking for answers on how these things are typically set up, and what is the likely setup my company is doing based on what I’ve stated.

    Wordpress
A WP acct. was created, possibly by the former employee. I’d guess that then only a web host is needed, WP is installed on the hosts server, and your blog is ready to go. Is this right?

I’ve been assuming that WordPress and Pagely have some kind of business relationship. Is this right? Maybe the WP acct was created by Pagely as part of a package deal the ex-employee signed up to, without ever going to WordPress himself, hence…no WP login.

    Pagely
Hosts (serves?/pushes?) the WordPress app only and provides updates and security, (and marginal tech support) for approx. $150/mo. Does WordPress also offer this same hosting and security? If so, then I’m not sure of the benefit we’re getting from Pagely. Pagely tech support is referring me to WordPress for any questions about WordPress.

    Network Solutions
Hosts/publishes the site files, as well as a wordpress (acct? / enabling files?) Unclear of NS’s relation to WordPress.

Our WP sites have been running on auto pilot for 2 years. I’m just taking the initiative to be the one informed person here that can explain how these 3 parts work together.

    thanks for you help!

Ok thanks. Sorry for the confusion, still learning. My co-worker is looking at our Network Solutions hosting control panel to see if we can get WP access.

When/if I do get access to the WordPress account again, I’m not sure what I’ll find there/here, what I’ll be able to do (i’ve never used or signed in to WP before) because from my limited understanding, Pagely is only accessing or hosting the WordPress app and managing security.

Thats why I asked – if we start a new WP acct and link it to Pagely, will we lose info? Or what are the ramifications of dropping the existing acct. and starting fresh?

Thanks for trying to help. You’re saying that to retrieve our WordPress account, we need to work it out with Pagely, not WordPress?

Can someone help with a solution pls?

Using MySQL or PHP isn’t an option we can do ourselves.

We don’t have a login to the WP account Pagely is apparently accessing – no username, no password. The email is likely one or two company emails the ex-IT guy has used, which we still monitor, but apparently I’m not receiving them all.

How do we prove we’re owners and switch the WP acct from this ex employee back to the company?

Or..Do we need to set up a new WP acct and start again? Will we lose info?

I’m not sure if the answer is a simple yes. We need to restore admin access – from a departed IT guy back to our company – to a WordPress account that Pagely apparently accesses to host the WP app used in 3 of our domains. I’m told no one at our company has info about a login to this WordPress account. I checked with accounting and they’re not paying WordPress, so I believe its a free account.

I’m still trying to determine where they are being hosted. Pagely is unable to tell me which sites theyre hosting – which seems.. wrong. One site is hosted by Wix.com, the template site.

Sorry for the confusion – there are way more moving parts to this than I would’ve guessed…

This link has several ways to recover/reset the admin password

We don’t have a WordPress login – no username, no password.

This username you see here is brand new – I created just to be able to post a question….

Thanks for trying to help. Part of my confusion is that I’ve been under the impression that Pagely IS hosting 2 of our 3 sites. But if they’re telling me this, I’m guessing this would indicate they’re saying no, and I need to find out where they’re being hosted.
