In reply to: [Purple Pastels] Per instructions Upgraded and Lost My SiteThank you for taking the time with me. FINALLY I have it all figured out- WHEW! Not as tech savvy as most so my learning curve these last few weeks has been quite steep. What an education!
Appreciate all your assistance.
Have an amazing week.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Purple Pastels] Per instructions Upgraded and Lost My SiteSure. The day after I upgraded the theme, I upgraded WP to 3.91 (or whatever it is). Then my entire site disappeared. I did not have access to the back office and the URL showed a fatal error. In order to get the site back I had to disable the plug in file (or whatever it is) in my c-panel.
I then added each plugin back. I believe I have around 6 on there right now. I just deactivated all the plugins and checked the media again. I still have no way to add the media to a page unless I use the URL (and it then opens on another page)
I am not trying to be difficult, just explaining my reality.

In reply to: [Purple Pastels] Per instructions Upgraded and Lost My SiteDon’t quite know how to answer your response. I removed all my plugins. I had no site at all. After I removed the plugins, my access and site were restored. Each plugin has been added manually and reactivated.
As for the images. None of the images changed on the pages posted prior to the crash.
Unfortunately, I did not add any images in the time between when I upgraded the theme and upgraded the site.
Will try again, but so far, deactivated the few plugins I have has had no effect.

In reply to: [Purple Pastels] Per instructions Upgraded and Lost My SiteHello,
Is there a way for me to add an image within a post? This used to be done from the image area with an option to use as a featured image or within the post.
With the upgrade, the only option available is the featured image. I did attempt to use the HTML for embedding the pictures – and it showed up as either the HTML or a blank space.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In reply to: Fatal Error on WP upgrade – Site is GONEYou are all so helpful and AMAZING! Clayton Jones – your answer was picture perfect for a semi-literate tech nerd. Have not kept up with all the “stuff” but got a crash course this weekend in all the items I have access to on my CPanel.
I will now use both my cpanel backup and my WP back up cause this was a major f-u on my part.
MY FINAL QUESTION!
Now that I changed the name on the plugin file- do I just replace the original name? Or should I just use the list I copied to re-install all the plugins? I will start fresh, have the all parts upgraded and all should function together. Originally, when I checked the plugins they were all there, deactivated with an error message. I just rechecked and they are all GONE.
Is that the best course? I would hate to bring the old plugins back and cause the site to crash again.
WHEW! Disaster diverted tonight! THANK YOU tedrubin, 2x2host and ClaytonJames – Rock Stars status for each of you!

In reply to: Fatal Error on WP upgrade – Site is GONEThis is the upgrade (file, php?) info. It is greek to me. No line items so no idea if the error code is here, this is listed as the WP upgrade in my C-Panel.
I tried to download 2 FTP programs, neither will open. WP content is intact, as are all images, etc.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I am in WAY over my head here.<?php

I upgraded the theme today, will upgrade to WP 9.2 next week. Don’t like to do to many things at one time.I guess my question is – Do the left and right borders only disappear when viewing in the WordPress dashboard?
Makes things look a little weird.I did check the site on Chrome – and want to know if it is cached?
