In reply to: Broken Themes–Stylesheet is missionI’m not sure they even know. One of the threads on their forums seemed to indicate that they were just switching people to non-affected servers because they couldn’t locate the source of the problem.

In reply to: Broken Themes–Stylesheet is missionIt turns out that it was some sort of problem with the host’s server. Check the above links for more information if you’re having the same problem.

In reply to: Broken Themes–Stylesheet is missionHI Handy,
wp-content is set to 755. The files look to me like they match. As I said, I think it may be a host server issue. I’ve told my friend to address the issue with her host via their help desk and to reference two forums on their site:
http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=29941&view=findpost&p=192962
http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29929I really think that has to be it. The changes happened across the board to all the themes and they had been functioning… Again, I’ll notify this thread of an update. Don’t worry about it at the moment–spend your time elsewhere

In reply to: Broken Themes–Stylesheet is missionI suspect I’m having the same problem described here:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/91600?replies=14The blog is hosted on a TCH server and the blog I personally maintain is not.
I’ll update once that has been checked out.

In reply to: Broken Themes–Stylesheet is missionJust rechecked them. The main ‘Themes’ folder and the individual themes’ folders are 755. The contents of an individual theme’s folder is 644.

In reply to: post-via-email for multiuser setupI’m considering this as well. I’ve got a multi-author blog (running on WP 1.5 ).
The application is that my co-author doesn’t get to spend much time online and does most of his blog reading and writing on the road on his Palm Pilot. He has the ability to write emails that send when he syncs which would make the post by email feature a potential benefit. It’s only if it comes pretty close to full functionality. Otherwise, it makes more sense for him to compose in a notes screen, sync, then cut and paste.

In reply to: Changing the SidebarYes.
I don’t know all the details but basically you can change the single page or the category page so that instead of calling the sidebar.php file, it just has what it needs for the sidebar already within the single.php or the category.php file. GreenTracks theme does it this way if you want to see how it looks in those files.
There may be other and/or better ways of doing it if a PHP guru corrects me, I won’t be offended.

In reply to: My custom theme … any good?In IE 6, the main page is broken: you can as far down the main column as the side bar extends. Also, there is a weird vertical white gap in the header area between the site title and the search area.
Also, I echo the concern about the sidebar resizing when the window is resized. It would be better if the main column did the resizing.
I really like the basic look though, including the search up top.

In reply to: [FYI] Update links 1.5I contacted ping-o-matic a few days ago asking about any plans to get ping-o-matic retrieving information from other major webping services and have not yet heard back. But, I’m sure Matt et al are keeping very busy supporting WP 1.5. Hopefully they’ll get back to us soon.

In reply to: Next Link (page/2/) Not WorkingI noticed other issues on your site just now. When I click on the “next” link, it opens in a new window and tries to go to
It should try to go to
I’m not an expert at all but I don’t think that’s the same thing mine was doing before I got it fixed. I think mine was going to the correct URI but not finding anything, or at least no posts.
It also tries to open in a new window which I suspect is a customization you made. Can you disable that and see if it’s related to the problem? If you have multiple plugins/adaptations trying to change how that link works, maybe they’re conflicting with each other.
I’m also assuming you did run the update php file when you upgraded to WP 1.5, yes?
Also, your main column is overlapped by the sidebar in IE 6 (but not in Netscape 7.1). Maybe it’s an IE thing, maybe a CSS problem, maybe a flaw in the theme. Just FYI.
