I have the same problem with my social buttons (plugin Digg Digg). Bitly resets my social shares.
I saw a similar discussion at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/conflict-with-yoast-seo-plugin which discuss compatibility problems with the plugin SEO by Yoast. People complain that Bitly changes the canonical URL. And the problem as classified as “Resolved” with a promess of repair!
I have just installed Bitly and cannot say about URLs, but the reset of social shares is still a problem. I had to desactivate Bitly.
If you guys have good news, please tell me.
