For anyone else having this issue, my problems were caused by the server’s firewall (ModSecurity). My service provider fixed this today and it now works again.
Thanks to Lucas for working this out!
Hi Lukas,
That was the problem and it’s now working properly. I really appreciate your help, I tried asking my hosting provider about this yesterday but didn’t get a response until I sent them your info.
Thanks very much, you are a star!
Dave.

In reply to: 403 error in Elementor ( server error )Yes, I have the same problem and can still edit the main page but not the sub pages.
Really annoying, maybe time to dump Elementor and start again.
Yes, I’m having the same issue. I’m using Elementor v2.4.7 with Astra
Everything seemed to be fine when I worked on two sites a couple of weeks ago, now when I try to update either of them I get a 403 error message every time.
As somebody noticed on another thread, for some reason this only affects sub pages, the home pages can still be edited and updated.I see that Elementor supports up to WordPress version 5.03, and I’m now on 5.1, so wondering whether this may be causing problems.
Have tried deactivating all plugins apart from Elementor and reverting to earlier versions of Elementor but it still doesn’t work.
Lisa: the document you’ve listed says that 403 errors are probably either caused by security plugins or the hosting companies firewalls. It doesn’t seem to be the problem in this case, any ideas please?
