Not official support, but if you should see a category list called Directorist Categories, in which you can then assign a category to a menu.
I would also make sure you are not selecting a top-level category, since it will populate all listings within that hierarchy.
It works after disabling the JS Minify from Cloudflare
I am not valid support, but use CSS to remove the areas you want. You can also disable several areas on the submission form from showing up during entry.
Just curious as I don’t see an ad feature in Directorist. Maybe I am missing something.

Seems to be an issue with Cloudflare. Disabled the JS Minify. Testing now.
