Got the situation pretty much resolved. Problem with with the new image uploader. Switched back to the old browser uploader and replaced all the affected photos. Display is now accepatble to IE.

Thanks, Deleted backtype. Now text shows on white background so you can read it. Appreciate the assist. Images are still skewed too tall. Any further ideas?
