I cannot find anything with the domain in it… I thought it was in one of the WordPress php files somewhere…. I made the change under ‘options’ on the old site when logged in as admin, and that no longer lets me log in… Then I backed up that sql set and restored it on the new site, and it still goes back to the old site but does not let me get back in….
I installed a new WordPress version on the new site, but when I restore the data it all changes again… Can I somehow import all the Blog entries into a clean/working install of WordPress? Might just do that manually if necessary (@#$@#%).

Great, done, and working… Moved it all back to the original dir. Found the 2 references to urls, under the ‘options’ menu, changed the url (see below), lost the whole interface immediately… moved it all to the new directory and it works again thanks! All in 2 minutes.
