For user type subscriber WordPress only allow to update/Edit profile from backend.
If you have enable WP User plugin and Disable Admin Bar Then it hide WordPress Admin bar as well Dashboard to user. Using WP User plugin user can update/edit there profile from front end(page) without dashboard.

Using WP User plugin you can manage front end profile,login, register, forgot password instead of WordPress default functionality.

Yes, With This plugin you can hide WordPress dashboard.
It will hide all WordPress backend and with plugin user can manage there profile on front end.Let us know in case any query.

Currently Pro version support custom fields but free and pro version not support for Custom post type.
For add or integrate custom post type you need to add code in register action.
