In reply to: Changing how name displays in commentsI just realized I can edit the comments to display correctly one by one. If I can’t get them to auto-update, I’ll bite the bullet and start editing. Thank you.

In reply to: Changing how name displays in commentsNope. I cleared the cache and all of my old comments are still showing up as V Vachula. Maybe I confused the issue by calling comments posts. Sorry about that. All of my blog posts are now showing My Crappy House as the author. My old comments, however, are still all displaying V Vachula. If you go to my latest blog post http://www.mycrappyhouse.com/i-suck-but-i-have-a-plan/ and scroll down, you will see my first comment replies are displaying V Vachula, while the newer ones are My Crappy House. Can I get those old comments to update?

In reply to: Changing how name displays in commentsOh, cool! Thank you! It never occurred to me that it could be a cache issue. I’ll clear my cache and see what happens.

In reply to: Changing how name displays in commentsHi,
Thanks for the replies. I’m in the main Profile setting screen – not Add user. Since I’m not allowed to change my username (next to my username, it says usernames cannot be changed), I added My Crappy House as a nickname. I then changed the “Display name publicly as” tab to My Crappy House. I did a test post and it’s now showing up as I like, but all of my old posts still say V Vachula. What am I doing wrong? 🙁Thank you! It’s actually been working since you had me check it wp.com. If it happens again, I will definitely do as you suggest.
Hi Jeremy,
I actually didn’t know I could view the toolbar on wordpress.com, but I just checked and yes, I can. After looking there, I went back to my site and the notifications button was working again. It’s almost like it gets clogged or something. I hope it continues to function, but more often than not, it “sticks”.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: I have made a MESS of my comments sectionThank you! Yes, I started out with a problem of nothing working, so that’s why I posted here. Now that I’ve boiled down my issue, I’ll take it to the proper forum. Thank you again 🙂

In reply to: I have made a MESS of my comments sectionHi,
Me again. I think I learned something. Sometimes it takes a while for a plugin to activate (or deactivate). Propagate? Is that it?Anyway, It seems the Facebook comments do override the Jetpack comments. Is there a way for BOTH comment methods to co-exist? Not all of my readers will have facebook accounts and I don’t want to alienate anyone.
If you actually read all of this nonsense, you’re a wonderful human being. Thank you.

In reply to: I have made a MESS of my comments sectionOK now everything is back. The only thing I did was disable comments and re-enable them. Now the facebook stuff is gone and I’m back to where I started. OMG this is so hard!
Thank you if you read all of this. As you can see, I’m back on track. I wouldn’t mind if someone had an explanation for this whole thing though. It’s how I learn.

In reply to: Archive thumbnails?Thank you for your reply. I was kinda hoping there would just be a plugin to do what I want because I’m clueless as to how to insert code and where to do it. Now that you’re telling me the answer is there, I’ll keep trying to figure it out. Thanks.

In reply to: Hiding tags below postsIt’s working! I’m so envious that you guys understand this language. I really need to take a class. Thank you both so much for your help!

In reply to: Hiding tags below postsNope, no luck. Just to make sure I’m doing this correctly, I’m going to appearance/editor where it opens my child theme .css. I’m just pasting in that code at the bottom and saving. Right? The tags are still there 🙁

In reply to: Hiding tags below postsThanks for your reply.
I pasted it in, but still no luck. I don’t know what you can see of the “guts” of my site, but I left your code in my child css file. Any other ideas?
Thanks again.
