Beside keep up to date all your wordpress,plugins and application, perhap you may consider harden your wordpress in which some plugins are able to do it. The harden process does not guarantee that you are bulletproof. Security is a continuous process.

If not too sure, you can do a stress test on the web server if it is own by you otherwise trying to look into those plugins will never resolve the root cause.
FYI most server will generate error due to overflow of traffic in which the hardware or bandwidth is insufficient to handle it.

In reply to: My first wordpressThe wordpress template i got it free from my web hoster while my web designer just helping to rearrange those stuff and did some adjustment to sliding pages. The rest of it i did it through self learning from utube and reading.
You can browser through the search in utube and you actually pick it up fast just like me. Apart from that if you know a bit html and it help you to have a better understanding.

Beside that, you can lay down thousands of rules but you cannot stop abuser but control the damage control. Likewise it work the same for the content of the posts. Don’t you policing every content of the posts including the designation section of the forum.
