To all folks experiencing this issue, please follow the thread and temporary alpha patch here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cron-event-not-found/#post-15261150
I believe if this patch continues to satisfy the issue, the plugin authors will add it to the next official update.
Good luck!
I’ve installed the alpha version and all the “Cron event not found” warnings have switched to the purple clock icon, indicating they are ready to expire correctly.
I have yet to determine if there will still be expiry problems with Published > Drafted > Republished posts.
Thanks for this update, fingers crossed.
Replying to myself, as the problem is solved.
I also installed the PublishPress Capabilities plugin and followed the instructions detailed here: https://publishpress.com/capabilities/Once installed, I went to Capabilities > Taxonomy Specific Capabilities > checked the boxes Categories, Tags > Clicked Update
I then went to Capabilities > Roles > Editor > Term Editing Capabilities > I left Manage, Edit, and Assign unchecked > Clicked Save Changes
Now those in the role of Editors can’t access the tags function at all, as I only want it for Admin level.
If you want partial permissions for this role, you can check Manage or Edit, and leave Assign unchecked (I believe). Do your own testing to be sure, as I did not need partial permissions.- This reply was modified 4 years, 3 months ago by veronicadyer.

Same thing happening to me, only the posts are indeed still up on my site and not expiring.

In reply to: [Accordion Blocks] Use in WidgetsEdit to add: I just realized I needed to download the official Gutenberg plugin and now my widget area uses blocks. Hurray! https://wordpress.org/plugins/gutenberg/
Unfortunately, this accordion block is not yet updated or adapted to be useable in the Gutenberg widget space. Still doesn’t work yet, but I hope for updates.
