In reply to: Problem moving WP website to new server, same urlOk. I re-imported the mysql database as well (after changing nameservers), and then ran a repair on the wp_options table (as suggested in another thread I read on this forum), and it’s magically sorted itself out!

In reply to: Problem moving WP website to new server, same urlThat’s because I decided to try re-uploading the files and folders via ftp (after nameservers had been changed) – you must have checked it just before I updated the wp-config file.
Some of the original content is now showing on the site (e.g. flower images on sides), but not much of it. And now the login doesn’t work! – it just goes back to the login page after entering correct login details. So I can’t access the admin area for some reason. Any ideas?

In reply to: Problem moving WP website to new server, same urlAlso just noticed that the url for the admin area is showing the IP address of the new server, as opposed to the site’s domain name (perhaps because the domain is still propagating?).

Do I need to use the import/export tools to bring this in to the site? I’d assumed it would have been in the files/folders/database that I transferred already.

I also just noticed an email from the ‘WP Team’ from this morning (when I did the transfer) entitled ‘New WordPress Site’, saying:
“Your new WordPress site has been successfully set up …”
Might it be an issue with an installation file that I shouldn’t have transferred?
I think the nameservers must have taken effect, because the site doesn’t look anything like it used to.
