What do I do when I need a few plugins only the main blog. For example, if want to use Multipress Autoblog on the main site, I wouldn’t want to network activate it and it should not be available for individual blogs

I’m trying to use the trial version before buying the plugin.
When I try to post content, it randomly selects Author names from other Users of the Main site. I’m not able to get over this problem. I try to run this on one of the sub-sites
