    Hi Tracy,

    sure, these are the links to 2 semi final pages as I need to fix the issue with the forms:

    I used your your additional class field-left-half for this one. Goal is to reduce the area hight on that one. (I know the first line does not line up with the other, but not sure where this is coming from and how to solve it)

    to much space between the form fields
    (on that I will reduce the width of the form with CSS)

    Hi Neil,

    thank you for your support. The FTP way is known to me and backup as well. So I did the Backup and deinstalled CF7 (deleted the folder of CF7 via FTP)

    Reinstalled via WordPress, but activating was not possible and I got an fatal error while reactivating.

    Check that there is no CF7 folder via FTP.

    I than downloaded the latest version of CF7 via the CF7 Page and manually uploaded it into the plugin folder. This went fine. I could see the CF7 plugin within my WordPress admin view but as soon as I tried to activate I got again the same fatal error.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_user_locale() in /home/www/uwe/uwehofstaetter/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/l10n.php:70 Stack trace: #0 /home/www/uwe/uwehofstaetter/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/settings.php(132): wpcf7_load_textdomain() #1 /home/www/uwe/uwehofstaetter/wp-includes/plugin.php(525): wpcf7_install() #2 /home/www/uwe/uwehofstaetter/wp-admin/plugins.php(166): do_action(‘activate_contac…’) #3 {main} thrown in /home/www/uwe/uwehofstaetter/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/l10n.php on line 70

    So I had to go back and use the CF7 Backup. This worked but I had to redo all 3 contact forms (lucky me I copied the coding manually upfront, saved them and had to replace the new ID´s in appr. 25 sub-pages/posts ;-o)

    So I´m back at the old version …. any hint on the above fatal error as I would like to update to the new CF7 version.

    I read somewhere that you should not do this, as the forms seams to be stored with a version “attached”. So if I load the new version, the forms will not be found anymore ….

    thank you for your reply. It is really strange, that all other plug-ins have update information (if available) but Contact Form 7 not and it should as I do have an older version 4.5.1

    Where are the settings and form stored to ensure that I save these separately as you mentioned “should remain”, which indicates that this might not the case.
