Looks like some error, that you dont’ see.
1. Try to set WP_DEBUG to true in your wp-config (temporarily!).

Then pls tell us — does your hosting provider/panel stores IP-addresses?
For example in nginx/apache logs?
If it does, then you also as site operator collect them. So you will need to switch to some custom hosting solution too.
Also does your site uses something like google analitics? If yes, then you collect 2nd option — devices’ ids. And you also need to avoid this. It’s a broader issue and once again — not just technical.

@philwillson I think currently plugin incompatible with socket connections.
I will research it and release hotfix later.
But currently I suggest you to try classic locahost:3306 network connection.

My current position — it could be solved legally and not needed to solve technically.
You can create 1st question like “Are you ok to save your IP, device and browser?”.
And when respondent proceed with answering this question — it will be clear consent.
Also you can solve it by public offer.But if you insist, there is “Anonymous” addon: Respondent’s personal data not saved and cookies not used.

I think you should disable it and check.

Hi,
I visited meetup recently and still dont’ see critical requirement to not save IP/device id.
IP and device id needed to distinguish between anonymous respondents, when they are not provided any other info. So there are legal reasons (contract) here.
Also you always can get consent from respondent like [_] I aggree to provide my ip/device id for the purposes of identication of my passings and to prevent possible fraud from my side.
But if you really need just “not to store anything”, then contact me directly. I can offer paid solution.
@jugiii I will plan to go to meetup regarding GDPR organized by plesk.com people at on 15 May.
After it I will decide whether this really critical feature or not.
Currently I think it could be easily solved though legal way and nothing technical not needed here.

But it should be done by someone who has good knowledge of wordpress and PHP.
