Thanks for your reply. I am thinking in more general terms than you may be assuming. I am not needing a how-to answer about how to use my chosen theme, nor about e-commerce at all (I don’t plan on setting up a shopping cart in relation to the curated brand list I’d like to create).
If there is anything you can suggest relating to the basic functionality WordPress offers (portfolio items, custom post types etc.) that would be helpful in how I decide to approach my task. This is mainly a content management approach question.

I did empty the cache in chrome but that didn’t help any at all.
