In reply to: Twenty Ten: Make only the content background with opacityThank you for the quick response!
When you say to rename the theme, how do you mean? I have noticed once that when I updated the theme a few weeks ago it reset everything like you said, so I would definitely like to avoid that again. I had never had that problem until WP3.0, but I don’t think I’d ever updated a theme before either. So I’m unsure if that’s a new feature.
Thanks for the tip on the redirect as well.
I have made a couple changes and overall, I like the look. I wonder about 2 new things now to make it perfect. Could you tell me how to:
1) make the post title and meta info flush with the content? I have been able to move them, but when I do, it moves the background of the entry title as well. I can’t seem to just move the text and leave the background of the text.
2) move the content and sidebar to the left and right respectively so their edges are also flush with the header image.
I’m really not too smart with this stuff and only know what I have guessed at and not broken the site with haha. Help is great, I enjoy learning 🙂

In reply to: Simple Question on moving my content up on my pageIt’s all correct, and my other sites in that hosting setup are all working. I did try deleting that theme from my FTP just to see and that wasn’t it. I guess it’s Godaddy because I didn’t change anything other than that bit of code, which apparently isn’t the cause. It was all so sudden. Yikes.

In reply to: Simple Question on moving my content up on my pageThank you! I did that and it looked great, then I refreshed and now I have a database error lol. I assume it’s just bad timing, I don’t see how that change in code could do that, so I’ll give it some time.

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedWell, I think I found the hacked file (or one of them at least). There’s an odd ‘eval(base64_decode’ code in the sidebar php page of my old theme. A code that isn’t there in a clean install of that theme. Googling those first few lines has led me to think that is it. Now to just keep my security tight. Thanks for the help again!

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedMy goodness, emptying the cache did it for all browsers. I tried that when the problem first came about with no luck so I didn’t even think to try it again after reinstalling. It was just that easy huh? Well thank you alism. You’ve made me a very happy blogger again 🙂

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedJust the default one upon the fresh installs. I was using a different one yesterday when first reported the problem, but I don’t have it installed on this new install. No plugins or modifications have been made at all and it still looks unformatted and messy. The only thing that still exists from the time period of the initial problem is that stats folder.
The blog (http://unclefarkus.com) isn’t trying to give you a virus anymore is it? I’m on a mac so I don’t see the popup that others have told me about where it tries to install stuff.
EDIT: and the main dashboard front page still looks correct, but any other links on the sidebar are unformatted after clicking.

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedAnybody? I’ve done 3 fresh reinstalls and nothing. Something is seriously wrong.
The only folder that I can’t get out of my ftp server is my stats folder from godaddy which I suspect must be the source of the corruption. But I can’t edit anything in there so it doesn’t matter.
I did take a look at the .htaccess file and it is blank. According to the link above it should have some code regarding wordpress but I can’t edit that file. I’m not sure if that was the hacker’s doing or godaddy.
Regardless, I am about to go postal.

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedAny ideas at all? I did notice that the only folder I can’t delete from my ftp is my stats folder and when I try to delete it it says its denied because of htaccess or something. Could the culprit lie in there? I don’t know. Ughhh I need to get my blog back up 🙂
I’m a noob with a lot of this btw. I can do basic things. Probably why I was hacked.

In reply to: WordPress Dashboard all screwed up and unformattedOk so I just deleted everything on my ftp server. I changed my password at godaddy and then I did a clean install of wordpress. The dashboard looks correct until I click on any option in the sidebar, it then goes back to looking like it did. I don’t know what’s wrong now. Everything should be clean. I create a new database and all.
I’m about to go insane. I lost everything on my blog and now I can’t even start a new one without having the same problem.

In reply to: Godaddy free hosting – Dashboard / Admin brokenI am having a problem too but I don’t use godaddy free hosting, I pay for it, so I don’t know if that matters. It just happened 2 days ago out of nowhere. I haven’t changed anything except theme colors but I even tried a different theme and the dashboard is still broken. I have tried multiple browsers (Chrome and Safari; Mac user here)- all the same. My other WordPress site which uses the same hosting and is under the same godaddy account works and looks fine.
I have no idea what happened but as far as I can tell, I had nothing to do with it. Here is what my dashboard looks like:

I haven’t tried the above methods given by stefano because 1.) my hosting isn’t free and 2.) i’m not really sure what to do … but at least my site is still looking correct.
any ideas what to do?

In reply to: Blog shows up as a black screen for peopleI deleted the theme from my FTP and redit it all, is it working now?(once again it is showing up for me, but I guess that doesn’t mean anything). Thanks
