In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateHello amq.
With WooCommerce 2.2+ the handling of billing and shipping country has changed. I believe that WooCommerce is working on that problem. In the meantime I provide with the plugin a “soft” fix that applies if you only have one country enabled for billing and/or shipping. In this case the plugin hides the superfluous country section applying styles.
To disable billing or shipping country in the case that you have more countries enabled is never a good idea as WooCommerce relies heavily on this information. It may be that you don’t need most of the billing and shipping fields and that you only want to use first name and last name and that you don’t need region/state information. For this case I may provide an update after testing a bit. Nevertheless, if you don’t need region or state you don’t need more than one country, if you need region/state information you need country as WooCommerce dynamically adapts region/state fields based on the country selection of the customer.
If you don’t need region/state and you don’t want to show country, you could simply remove all countries but one and the problem will be fixed for you.
Other possible causes: If you use only one country and the country shows up, please check if you use WooCommerce template overrides in your theme that attach style attributes on tag elements.
Regards.
uhHi Stuart.
Thanks for contacting. You’re not the first to ask for something like this but no, this is (still) not part of the plugins. I will update this thread if I decide to implement shipping options on a variation level.
Regards.
uhHello sevengrey.
The plugin includes basic contextual help on its admin page. It’s accessible via the help button on top of the page.
The configuration of custom fields in itself is straightforward. You simply add a field to one of the sections and you can access additional configuration options using the button in the type column.
Adding dedicated form sections is a bit more complicated but you find the instructions in the contextual help.
As stated in the last update, I will provide documentation and more help in the next days and weeks for the plugin. If you have questions concerning the Rich Guy, please contact me via the Contact Form.
Regards.
uhHello sevengrey.
The plugin is not conditional in the sense that it filters: customer has this product in the cart, thus show this and this custom field inside the the billing address section.
What you can do is item personalization which basically means that you can configure custom fields to set up a dedicated form section for this item. If you have 93 items which don’t need the ids you have to add a personalization form section to the 94th item. The contextual help includes instruction on how to enable item fieldset sections and how to associate the fieldsets to products for personalization.
I have to admit that I haven’t read the last sentence of your initial comment carefully as you won’t be able to place this section inside the billing form section in the checkout, below the name field and before the address field. The result is the same, the presentation is slightly different.
Regards.
uhYou can download the plugin and extract the missing file. It’s now included. The general fix will be out today.
Regards.
uhI will provide an update for this today. My fault, I did not commit the file. Sorry for that.
Regards.
uhHello formerfatguy.
If you need a simple checkbox, this is already available. You can have a simple checkbox with the Poor and with the Rich Guy version of the plugin. You simple need to activate checkbox presentation on a configured select custom field.
Tax exempt will make it into one of the next updates of the Rich Guy, too. Should not take all that long. One or two weeks.
Regards.
uhThanks for reporting.
I will have a look into this.
Regards.
uhHello sevengrey.
This is not available with the Poor Guy. You need the Rich Guy to do something like this. The feature is called checkout item personalization.
You can achieve this with product extras as well. These show up before the item is added to the cart.

Please have a look here. Please understand that I’m not able to offer dedicated site support.
I’m doing my best to offer general support related with my plugins. The Swiss Knifes are general purpose plugins but like the real Swiss Knifes, they can do a good job in many circumstances but they are not doing it all.
If you read the recommended thread carefully you should be able to customize your store and website to your needs.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] edited my description tabYou don’t have to, but it’s recommended that you add theme modifications in a child theme. You can find help on this topic using “child theme” and WordPress as key words.
If it works and you have a copy of your changes you can easily recover changes after a theme update as well.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] edited my description tabTo override WooCommerce templates you have to create a folder called woocommerce inside your theme folder and you have to copy files (maintaining subdirectories) from the templates folder of WooCommerce. If you copy the whole plugin to your theme it will never work! And you should only copy the files you really need to update and inform yourself about “child themes”. Otherwise you will lose your changes with each theme update.

I don’t get your last point. What do you mean by “you don’t add the ability to change the tab”? What do you mean with “returen to shop”? Do you want to add a link there which allows you to return to the shop page? That’s indeed not part of the package and there are other ways to do this.

Sorry for the delay. The plugin includes the possibility to set the labels for product tabs. You can find the label configuration in the Label Configuration section of the plugin.
