Hello jrobertblack.
You find some threads inside this forum related with data exploration, with code samples. You can also use third party plugins to achieve this.
I hope you understand that I’m not able to give support for specific implementation needs. That’s far behind of what I can offer here in the context of a free plugin.
Regards.
uhHello.
That’s another big step and you’re close to fix this, you can or
– open a support ticket with WooCommerce
– or translate the files yourself using the pot packageThanks again for your effort. It’s sometimes an arduous task to identify the problems. I will close this here as I’m not speaking Romanian.
Regards.
uhHello again.
I’ve installed the woocommerce language package for catalan as well and it works. I know that you’re working with ro_RO but I first wanted to see if this is a general problem and it does not seem to be a general problem but one related with the specific WooCommerce language pack ro_RO and maybe some other site specific conditions like WordPress version, etc.
At least we’ve managed to identify the context. That’s a big step. To get some more information, can you download the catalan language pack and rename the files to fake ro_RO. You have to rename the *ca.mo files to *ro_RO.mo to do this. If this works great, than we have to take a closer look at the language files for ro_RO only, if not, it’s related with your specific WordPress setup.
Regards.
uhHello Andkite.
Thanks for the carrots. 🙂
I would prefer that you use or the forum or the contact form on TakeBarcelona to receive support for the Rich Guy. It may be confusing for Poor Guy users to see problems and features exposed which don’t exist in the Poor Guy version.
The visualization of captured data is indeed still a thing to improve. This goes for data repeaters and Product Extras aka Carrots. Both show up in the administration nevertheless. I will try to provide a better and more flexible solution for this.
Regards.
uhHello loging.
How do you set your language, via WordPress > Settings -> General or via the wp-config.php? Do you have the language files for your language for WordPress? I did a quick test changing the site language to catalan and it works on my test site as well.
Regards.
uhHello loging.
Thanks for your effort. I will do some tests based on other default languages and report.
Regards.
uhHi loging.
Thanks for your last screenshots but they don’t help me very much to trace your problem. If you like to you can send me an admin login via the contact form on takebarcelona.com. You could also try a clean install of WordPress, does not take long if you have the resources available and test if this works on a fresh install.
One more question: Do the fields show up on your checkout page?
Regards.
uhHi loging.
For a registered user this should show up. I’ve tested once again to be sure and when I enter the My Account page on my test site, no problem. Could you please test with a default WordPress theme like Thirteen Twenty.
If this does not help, please deactivate all WooCommerce related plugins apart from WooCommerce and WCPGSK and test again. If the problem still persists please give some feedback. If you’re able to see the fields after one of these tests, please report what theme or what plugin causes the problem.
Thanks.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateGood question. As I can see one configuration setting has disappeared from the general WooCommerce settings. I will provide this setting in the next update.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateOne gets curious about what you’re selling if it’s digital and you can only sell it to five countries in the world. Hopefully nothing bad…
As said, you will receive better support for your last question contacting WooCommerce directly.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateThis is a support question for WooCommerce itself. But as the user is not able to supply the information, your country selector is hidden, I would say that WooCommerce is not able to identify if a customer is accessing your store from this or that country. You would need to attach a reliable and expensive database service from maxmind for example to do such a job.
But, that’s just a quick answer, maybe you have a plugin running that identifies the customer country for you based on IP address, etc. and disallows to sell the product if the customer’s ip does not belong to the five countries you configured.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateSo, we’re back to the first solution. You don’t need more than one country and if you configure this you can perfectly hide away the billing and/or shipping country with the plugin right now. Does not make any sense to configure five countries and to hide the selection away.
If you only offer First Name and Email you can perfectly use one of the offered solutions.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateAnd another update: Do you have the five countries configured in the WooCommerce settings? You should define your five countries, if not.

uhForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateBut why do you want to disable the country selection in this case? Woocommerce offers a good feature that adapts your form automatically based on customer selection and the underlying country specific needs for the address.
I will test if everything works if I simply hide away the country part in all contexts if it’s configured like this in the WCPGSK settings.
You can hide it yourself easily if you don’t want to wait or if it will take to long for you till the plugin offers a consistent solution for this: Just add this to your style.css:
#billing_country_field, #shipping_country_field { display:none !important; }That’s it.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife] Country Can't be Hidden with New UpdateWhat do you mean by: you wait for the fix? That you don’t need region/state information and that you have more than one country enabled? In this case please try to deactivate all countries and select only your own country. That’s the fastest solution you can obtain.
The solution implemented right now is the most secure in the context of WooCommerce 2.2+. I don’t know if I have the time to work on a solution over the next two or three weeks that offers this based on localization, etc., especially if WooCommerce may change the behavior in the meantime. What’s your configuration?
How many countries do you have? Do you use the localization option the plugin offers?
