Do i need to make changes to my htaccess file in root? Because those steps don’t mention anything about modifying htaccess

No, it is a linux server.
However, it is a shared hosting package from namecheap.com so i don’t really have access to the server shell/root.

i did name the subdirectory “subDirectory” in this scenario.
I will change it later, but i just put it that way so its easier to understand (i guess it caused confusion more than anything lol)
