I didn’t explain very well – but if I upload the external media on the main network – then the external media url works perfectly:

https://www.external-url.com/img.jpg

When I try to access this media in one of the network sub blogs, the external media url becomes:

https://sub-blog.com/site2/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/https://www.external-url.com/img.jpg

Thanks for looking at this 🙂 The host has made the change and I have lowered the max exec time to 12 – but still seem to be getting the error:

Hi – I have all the GZip and minification already… its definitely the image sizes… I’ve got them down though by changing Settings are:

Image size – set to default with 300×300 desktop and removing mobile altogether.

Is there an option to remove Retina images… these are the ones killing it 🙁
