Same problem with auto install to 3.0.1

I was able to save settings 5 times while trying to find an encoding that displays correctly in settings/reading.

Now, whenever I try a new one, I get the same error message as Tony above . . .

“Your attempt to edit your settings has failed.

Please try again.”

I deactivated all plugins – didn’t help.

Any clues?
