In reply to: 2.7 beta Upgrade Issue?Hey, I’m getting the same error when upgrading from 2.8.3 to 2.8.4.
The upgrade process stops dead in it’s track at “installing the latest version”. Everytime I try it stops there.
Afterwords, all the screens have the yellow message: “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt to update again now.”.
However, in the homepage of the dashboard and at the bottom it says I’m running version 2.8.4
I found the .maintenance file and deleted it, and the message dissappeared… But, am I truly running 2.8.4? Did the installation complete 100%?

In reply to: [Plugin: Custom widgets] How to customize it for the main index pageWell your main index page displays X posts from a category (default is “uncategorized”).
On my site, i renamed ‘uncategorized’ to ‘Whattup!’ (don’t know why, just did). So for certain widgets to appear on my index page (or not) just select this category (or all other categories.
There, done!
I will be donating to this great plugin once i start having income from my online store! 😉
But we ned a little help =D
Alex, where are you?

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Using TagsHey Alex, you should create URI’s that display galleries based on tags.
For example, links could be of this format:
http://www.yourSite.com/Wordpress/ngg-tag/TagName
On my site for example, Maybe i want to show models of all my footwear that are called the “Rook”
the URL would be http://www.bettafootwear.com/ngg-tag/Rook
Users will see all shoes labeled “Rook” even if they are in different galleries. What do you think?
Also, would be cool to have multiple URI’s that go to the same place.
Example:
bettafootwear.com/ngg-tag/Rook —–|
bettafootwear.com/footwear/Rook —-| All Same Page
bettafootwear.com/whatever/Rook —-|All of these would load the same exact page and you can specify how many different URI names to have.
Would be awesome!

In reply to: [Plugin: Embedded Video] Alternative plugin?Ooohh.. and one other good idea!!! ProPlayer should have a upload feature to upload FLV files!

In reply to: [Plugin: Embedded Video] Alternative plugin?@mikeque except, yeah, it doesn’t have a media library browser, but if it did it would by FAR surpass all the other video embed plugins. This one takes youtube, your own FLV, or any URL that contains a FLV…
With you tube, for example, you give it the URL to the video… and it plays the youtube video in JW player!!!! So you don’t have to have that ugly looking youtube player on your nice looking site. 😉
ProPlayer !
kjetilgf, you NEED to try this one! It’s so simple yet powerful. We should all flock to this video plugin, and encourage it’s development and soon it will take over! I’m going to contact the guy that made it and tell him he needs a media browser. 😀
