Thank you for considering the request. I’d also like to provide some additional context from the Malaysian market. Some of Malaysia’s prominent mainstream news publishers run on WordPress, including, Utusan Malaysia, Kosmo!, Amanz & many other digital publishers.

I’ve worked in Malaysia’s mainstream media industry for over 12 years, so I understand the challenges. One of the biggest issues is declining advertising revenue as budgets continue shifting to platforms like Meta, TikTok & Google.

The industry has also recently established the Malaysian Media Council majlismedia.my to help strengthen the local media ecosystem & explore more sustainable business models.

I genuinely believe paid digital subscriptions will become an increasingly important revenue stream for Malaysian publishers. Supporting MYR would make Jetpack Paid Newsletters much more viable for Malaysian media organizations, independent publishers, journalists & bloggers/creators.

If MYR support becomes available, I’d be happy to introduce & advocate Jetpack’s paid newsletter solution to media organizations & publisher networks here in Malaysia, as I believe it could help accelerate adoption.
