In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeIf You have access to Your wp-admin, that is a really good progress.
I have read more about the theme You are using. Generally speaking, You only lose any kind of data (meaning: delete) when You delete a theme also, simply by activating an other theme does not delete data.
Your licence is valid for Your domain name, that means, if You, let’s say, move to a new server, or Your site get’s hacked, and You need to reinstall a theme or plugin, there is no need to purchase a theme or a plugin again, because You have purchased the licence for a single site, or in other words, a single domain name.
Having said that, I see that Your site is loading with the theme, so I think You should try to backtrace the various error messages You get.
What does the WordPress update page say now? Is there any plugin or theme that still need updating?
The error message You have posted, now points to the plugin vibe-course-module. However, the strange thing I noticed, in both error messages there is a mention for
bp, which I think stands for BuddyPress. Is BuddyPress up and running on Your WordPress installation?Balint

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeokay, so aoc is the username,
brisbanemobileaccountant.com is the hostname,

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeif it says it already exists, try creating one with a different username, because I doubt that it will show You the passwords of already created accounts.

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeyes, I think this is it. If You dont know the password, feel free to change it, I never used Hostgator, but I think the ftp password is not the same as the password for the Hostgator control panel.
In this case, I think australiaonlinecourses is the ftp username, and brisbanemobileaccountant.com is the ftp hostname.

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeIt is possible that there is no account there, in that case simply create a new one.

In reply to: Gradual Fatal Error TakeoverYou need to open Your site with an FTP software or use some kind of file browser, if Your hosting company provides one. Please go to Your
wp-contentdirectory and inside that open thepluginsdirectory. There You will see a couple of folders, every folder corresponding to a plugin You have installed in Your WordPress site. There You simply need to rename a plugin folder’s name to deactivate it. The name You choose is not important, the point is to rename the folder. This way WordPress cannot find longer the plugin’s files, and it will automatically deactivate it.To delete these plugins You have manually deactivated, rename the folder names to it’s original names (my advice is to reactivate them one by one) and then deactivate and delete them in the Dashboard, this way there will be no leftover data from these plugins in the database.
By the way, could You please share a link to Your site?
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers,

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeBased on the error messages, it looks like that the login information for FTP is not right. Somewhere in Your hostgator control panel there should be a menu item Ftp accounts or something similar, where the available ftp login credentials are listed, or You can create new ones.
Keep me updated how the restore goes.

In reply to: Just lost our whole site doing wp upgradeHello!
About the backup restore, it can be a good idea, however since You have said You were updating Your plugins, make sure You request a backup restore of Your files AND the database also, because on plugin updates there are changes made to Your database too. However, this means that all the modifications (student activity, comments, new posts, etc) that happened after the last database backup was made, will be lost.
Don’t know how big issue is that personally for You, but I think first I would try only asking them to rename the folder name for You, and try to find and resolve the issue in the code from there.
Restoring a backup if that doesn’t work is still a possibility, however, ask the hosting company to hold on to those backup files, if they only maintain 1 backup of Your site, it could be overwritten with Your site’s current state, which the bug in it.
Let me know how it goes, I am here to assist if needed.

In reply to: Changing the color of URL linkHello!
It is considered a really bad idea to edit the theme’s files directly, because this way when You update Your site or the theme files, all of Your modifications will be lost.
The right way to do this is by creating a child theme (here is a codex page or here is a video how to do it), or if You need only to do CSS modifications, the easiest way is to use a plugin like Simple Custom CSS.
If You could share a link to Your website and describe what You would like to change in more details, I am happy to take a look for You.

In reply to: Gradual Fatal Error TakeoverHello!
It looks like that something on Your site is using up too much memory. This can simply happen because You have too much plugins activated and Your server has really low memory for serving Your site.
The first thing I would recommend deactivating some plugins that You need the least, and them use the some plugin like the P3 profiler to find out what plugins are using the most resources.
By the way, in my experience, based on Your site’s complexity and visitor number, I think a 64 MB memory limit is pretty low, and You will be facing these issues pretty often if Your site gets more visitors… Can I ask You, what is Your hosting provider?
If You have any questions or need assistance related to this, just feel free to post a reply here and I am happy to help.

It looks like there is some error in Your theme’s files which stops the site execution. I know, this looks pretty frightening, but there is absolutely no data lost.
The only thing You have to do is to deactivate the theme. If You can still access Your WordPress Dashboard, please go to
Appearance->Themesand activate a theme other than Your current theme (the default twenty fifteen, twenty fourteen themes are good choices). This way Your site will be up and running again, and it will be easier to resolve the issue from that point. If You cannot access the Dashboard, You need to open Your site with an FTP software or use some kind of file browser, if Your hosting company provides one. Please go to Your
wp-contentdirectory and inside that open thethemesdirectory. There You will see a couple of folders, every folder corresponding to a theme You have installed in Your WordPress site. Among others there is a folder calledwplms, please rename that to something likewplms-bad. The name You choose is not important, the point is to rename the folder. This way WordPress cannot find longer the currently active theme’s files, and it will automatically activate some other theme, and this way You will be able to access Your WordPress Dashboard. Here is a video how to use and FTP software to access a WordPress site’s files.
