Oh… right… I just updated my own post to indicate that’s how I fixed it, too.
I’m using AtoZnet.com. It’s a Mom and pop shop who give you whatever you ask for at the price you can afford to pay if you email them directly and just say somebody told you so… hehe… she charges me $60 for the year but I get ssh access, so, works for me.

I had the exact same issue – installing ‘php-xml’ fixed it.
ssh to your server
yum install ‘php-xml’
service httpd restart
reload the “import” web page…
