In reply to: Exclude pages from being searchedThanks HandySolo and rudolf45. I checked the Related Entries plugin and it doesn’t say that it isn’t compatible with 2.1.2.
How hard is it to tweak the plugin to make it compatible? It seems like a really popular plugin (or one that is at least really useful).
If I were to insert the <!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –>
before and after the pages I want to be ignored in the Related Entries plugin, would that work? Do I have any other options? I really like the plugin.

In reply to: Pasting in Post Resets PageI was using Firefox. I would use IE too, but for some reason the WYSIWYG editor doesn’t work in that browser for me at home. I’m sure it’s some setting I have …

In reply to: Submitting long comment returns 404 errorI figured out the problem. When I typed the word “chunked” into the comments section at my site, it gives me the error page. Now what is up with that? I disabled all my plugins and it still returned the error. I even switched themes and it still returned the error. What could possibly be wrong with saying “chunked”?

In reply to: changed options, now can’t log inActually, the solution is dead simple. I just changed the Blog URI field on the Options page to the URL I wanted to point to for the add-on domain.

In reply to: changed options, now can’t log inThanks, that worked. I was very impressed by the instructions too. By the way, I have a follow-up question. The reason I changed those options is because when I click the View Site link at the top, it goes to the wrong domain.
I have my blog in the root at idratherbewriting.com. I created an add-on domain called maryoverley and put it in this folder, idratherbewriting.com/maryoverley. When I log into the add-on domain, I go to idratherbewriting.com/maryoverley/wp-admin. But when I click the View Site link in the maryoverley.com dashboard, it sends me to idratherbewriting.com instead. How do I point it to the correct location?

In reply to: both hit tracking and search feature don’t work — what’s commonlity?I also figured out why my site wasn’t tracking any hits. I had installed a Clicky script a long time ago in the footer template. I totally forgot about this. When I removed it, my hit tracking returned.

In reply to: both hit tracking and search feature don’t work — what’s commonlity? The problem plugin was the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin. . I know it wasn’t compatible with 2.1, but I thought it had been updated/revised. I guess not.

In reply to: both hit tracking and search feature don’t work — what’s commonlity? It must have been a plugin problem. I deactivated a few and now the search works. Still have the hit tracking issue, though. At least the Feedburner hit tracking service works.

In reply to: embed html page into pageThanks. I did try that, but for some reason the iFrame only captured part of my page. It was a google map page (www.stc-suncoast.org/map.html) and only the main frame was brought in. Thanks anyway.

In reply to: Site Won’t Allow Me to Measure Any Stats/HitsI just flipped on AWStats, and apparently it takes 36-72 hrs to compile stats. But another feature — a log analyzer, shows the last 300 people who visited the site, and there are enough to merit some stats.
I did check with my host (bluehost), but they said nothing is blocking google analytics or any other hit counter. he had no idea.
I really am in the dark about why it’s not working.
