Thank you. This one solved the problem … I used the Gatekeeper plugin, which expects the answer of a simple question at each comment post. Obviously this is also needed for the trackbacks … 🙁
Any hints on a gatekeeper (to avoid comment spam) that does not break the trackback functionality?

i have the same problem as the the original poster.
Trackbacks to my wordpress doesn’t seem to work. I used http://redalt.com/External/trackback.php to test my site and a error appeared: “Sorry, posting has been closed for the time being.”
I use a heavy modified Kubrick theme.
